To create a digital immersive platform that will work hand in hand with Currys internal Peak sales event for all employees and allow them to learn about the latest tech and white goods products from leading retailers leading up to the Christmas selling season. Part of the challenge was to liaise with and develop a platform for all key Currys suppliers by way of virtual exhibitions where colleagues can visit, walk around and interact with all in a virtual space. The brief included enabling immersive gamification and the provision of full analytical tracking throughout the platform. The platform is for Currys colleagues only and is to be locked down to internal access only.
We embarked on designing a hybrid 2D and 3D platform environment with our project lead and partners fresh. The platform featured a clean and simple carousel menu guiding different user types from login to the most relevant area to them. Behind the navigation there where a series of colleague journeys with live broadcasts and OnDemand videos promoting the ethos of Currys and their Peak trading season. Also included within this navigation was a link to a fully virtual supplier exhibition centre where brands such as Microsoft, Samsung, Google and Facebook showcased their content for this particular Peak season. The content consisted of Live TV Channels streamed into our platform playing out at key times of the day during the live period, OnDemand product films, downloads and key facts along with competitions for Currys colleagues to win new tech as part of the event along with live chat functions for attendees to ask key product questions to suppliers. All supplier content was housed in a fully virtual 3D walkthrough environment which was fully accessible via SSO (Single Sign On) in line with Currys internal networks and also available on Desktop, Tablet and Mobile Devices.
A live analytical dashboard was produced for Currys to monitor stats such as site traffic, dwell time on videos and live streams along with number of registrations, logins and downloads all broken down by suppliers and departments. Each supplier was also supplied with their own bespoke dashboard to monitor footfall and interaction to their stands and to answer any questions coming in from the live chat function.
A robust platform only accessible for Currys employees that brings a content rich virtual space for both internal Currys Peak content and a place for all Currys suppliers to showcase their latest tech and whitegoods ready for all Currys colleagues to absorb and use for key selling period with customers. Also providing a key analytical tool for event organisers to report and measure ROI during and post event.
