Not always. I think you get to a stage in your life where you realise that you can do things better, you want the freedom, the ability to make decisions and make a difference, which you don't get working for someone else all the time. Working for yourself gives you that along with its own challenges.
Yes. From the age of 15, doing art at school. I had a teacher who was good enough to get me to be able to do a GCSE in graphic design, because we could choose a specialism. She allowed me to do graphic design, I'm always thankful for that, it gave me the grounding to go on to college and then on to the things that I love doing.
Meeting people, new people, new challenges, the variety, and ultimately delivering for people.
Communication. Always delivering on your promises and listening to people. Not going off on what you think is a good idea for that person, but listening to what their requirements are and then delivering a good idea that answers the brief.
Let's talk about it, let's have a conversation to see if we're the right fit for each other. Not everybody is the right fit for everybody, it's not a one size fits all industry. If we have an open and frank discussion with that person we more often than not get a really good result.
There's a number of projects that we've worked very closely with people on from a product perspective, and there are numerous projects where we've actually been involved with the product development as well. Like the Awesome product range, I really liked that as you get a real sense of ownership with the brand and then you can start creating all the deliverables for it.

I don’t really have a favourite it’s what’s right for each particular project. However, I’ve always had a soft spot for Helvetica used in the correct way. It’s just a timeless font.
